A startup challenge for female entrepreneurs
If you are a female entrepreneur, or thinking about your own startup, maybe you will see an opportunity in the ‘Girls in Tech 2021 Startup Challenge for female founders’ that Girls in Tech are organising. This is the eighth year that the association is holding this Startup Challenge, aiming at supporting women entrepreneurs.
Female-founded and female-led startups are becoming more common and the global number of women-led unicorns has increased 400% in seven years, a recent study from statistics from research and marketing firm Statista has shown.
This year’s competition will be available in a fully virtual format for the first time. During the competition, female founders will submit a video pitch for their early-stage startup and fill out a short application form. Pitches will be judged based on the innovativeness, framework, and market viability of the product.
Entrepreneurs’ pitches, showcasing their technology’s product features and concepts, will be judged by a panel made up of seasoned investors, professionals, and executives. Winners of Girls in Tech 2021 Startup Challenge will receive a cash prize to move their startup forward.
