Microsoft expanding in new advertising markets

Microsoft announced that it is launching its Advertising in 29 countries across Europe and Africa which means close to doubling the number of markets where it is available. “These 29 markets bring advertisers access to a new audience and enable them to reach consumers in 19 new languages”, Microsoft said in a blog.

Microsoft recently bought programmatic advertising marketplace Xandr from AT&T and announced a strategic cooperation with read recommendation company Taboola, both actions seen as an ambition to develop into a bigger challenger for Google in the programmatic advertising business.

The company said that the expanded access to Advertising will increase the footprint reach to 41 million consumers, making 400 million searches each month on Microsoft and partner sites.

“This represents a huge milestone in the scaling of our platform and is an exciting first step in unlocking even more of Microsoft’s global search volume.”
