Violence against women journalists is a freedom of expression issue. Between half and two-thirds of women journalists have experienced gender-based harassment and abuse, in their workplaces, reporting, or online, says freedom-of-expression organisation Article. The International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women was observed on 25 November and is followed by a 16 days international campaign against gender-based violence.
The turbulence around artificial intelligence giant OpenAI shows the difficulties with combining profit and non-profit. Open AI’s CEO, Sam Altman, was after protests from staff reinstated as head of the company and the board that had fired him, was changed.
Programmatic advertising is on an upswing. 54% of advertisers now allocate over 41% of their digital campaigns to programmatic investment, marking a significant increase from the previous year, according to IAB Europe’s ‘2023 Attitudes to Programmatic Advertising’ report.
Cyber risks and inflationary risks are the two top concerns for companies. 37% of organisations believe they are “highly” or “extremely” exposed to cyber risks – narrowly behind inflationary risks (39%) – while leaders responsible for managing risk rank cyber higher than inflation, according to consultancy PwC’s Global Risk Survey.
