Twitter testing new feature to report misinformation

Twitter is testing a way for users to report misinformation. Users in the US and South Korea will be testing a feature to report Tweets that seem misleading. The test users will find the option to flag a Tweet as “It’s misleading” after clicking on Report Tweet, the company tweeted.

Stressing that it is a test, the company said it is assessing if this is an effective approach so starting small.

“We may not take action on and cannot respond to each report in the experiment, but your input will help us identify trends so that we can improve the speed and scale of our broader misinformation work.”

Asked if the feature will come to European users Twitter said it will first learn from a geographically limited test before scaling globally to other areas.
