A unicorn promoting women executives
”We live in a world where there are more S&P 500 CEOs named “Michael” or “James” than women chief executives”, New York-based women network Chief said announcing it has raised a $100 million Series B investment which means the organization is valued at USD 1.18 billion and is a women founded unicorn start-up.
“For every 100 men promoted to management, only 72 women reach that same level. But this doesn’t have to be our future”, Chief says as a mission statement.
Chief is a private network designed for women in executive leadership. It was launched in 2019 by Carolyn Childers and Lindsay Kaplan. Its mission is to drive more women to the top and keep them there. It says its members include 10 000 senior executives in the United States from companies like Google, IBM, Spotify, Amazon, Nteflix, Disney and New York Times
”When we launched in 2019, we set out on a mission to change the face of leadership. Three years later, we’re well on track to a future where more women lead the way”, Chief said in a statement.
”This new investment is fuel to drive the Chief experience forward and build the most powerful network for the most powerful women executives in the world.”
