Diversity in Tech Awards: A wrap-up of the winners
Despite conversations about gender diversity in tech, women are still underrepresented, underpaid, and often discriminated against in the tech industry. There are individuals and organizations though that are trying to close the gender gap, and initiatives that recognize these efforts.
On the 7th of October, the Diversity in Tech Awards celebrated the best in tech and recognized the broad efforts of promoting diversity in the workplace and narrowing the gender gap in the technology sector.
The awards were split into two category areas; Diversity in Tech and Women in Tech. The Diversity in Tech categories celebrated awards for role models in tech, LGBTQ+ inclusion, social mobility, disability inclusion, cultural inclusion, generational inclusion and health and wellness, while the Women in Tech categories focused on tech leadership, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, mentorship and data science.
