Online session: how to cover the COP26 summit with data journalism

On 31 October – 12 November 2021, the UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow. The aim is to bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Journalists must help audiences understand why the upcoming summit of world leaders in Glasgow is one of the most important diplomatic meetings in history, and must know how they can effectively communicate the magnitude of COP26 to their audiences.

In a learning session that will take place virtually, on 6 October 2021, Jonathan Stoneman, EBU Academy faculty member, will explore how journalists can effectively select the right data and present it in a visual and engaging way when covering stories around climate change and sustainability.

This free online learning session will help bring journalists up to speed by explaining where to find interesting data to understand the COP26 issues, how to use data to illustrate stories and share a few finalized animations and visualizations.

The session will take place from 11am to 12pm CEST Learn more here: https://bit.ly/3EXewBo
