Clubhouse facing competition and unlocking the door

If you never got an invitation to the by invitation-only audio social media Clubhouse you can relax now. Clubhouse has opened its gates for anyone who wants to join.

The decision comes when many other social media companies have added what looks like Clubhouse copies inviting people to chatrooms hosted by influencers and celebrities.

The company in a blog says it during the past year has grown from 8 staffers to 58. The number of daily “rooms” has grown from 50 000 to half a million.

“We’ve added 10M people to the community since we launched Android in mid-May. The average listener now spends over an hour a day on Clubhouse, and a huge percentage of people don’t just listen, but actually talk”, Clubhouse said in a blog post.
