Audio-chat app Clubhouse has closed a new round of financing, the company announced. The company did not mention the amount raised but according to Reuters, the new financing would value the company at USD 4 billion.
Clubhouse recently said it has 10 million weekly active users despite still being accessible on invitation only. Each member can invite only one more person to join for the audio chats.
Clubhouse success with audio chats means that other social media are also looking at entering this market with Facebook rumored to launch one within days.
Clubhouse informed the new round of financing was led by Andrew Chen of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz with major investors like DST Global, Tiger Global and Elad Gil.
