Discussions started about selling state owned Channel 4
US based TV company Discovery has started informal discussions about buying British state owned Channel 4 since the British government recently announced it is planning to introduce a new structure for the channel including a consultation for selling it, The Telegraph reported.
UK broadcasters ITV and Comcast’s Sky are also planning to bid for Channel 4, the newspaper said.
Advertising financed Channel 4 for 2020 reported revenues of GBP 934 million, down 5% from the previous year pre-tax surplus was GBP 74 million.
