Facebook News signing agreement with 100 French media

Facebook has launched its Facebook News in France that has become a key market in Europe after earlier heated discussions between media and big tech companies. The company said it has signed agreements with more than 100 media outlets via its earlier announced agreement on cooperation with l’Alliance de la Presse d’Information Générale (APIG).

French international news agency AFP`s subsidiary Media Services will be curating the content.

Among the media that has agreed to provide content are 20 Minutes, La Croix, Le Figaro, Le Journal du Dimanche, Le Parisien, Les Echos and local dailies and weeklies such as La Dépêche du Midi, La Provence, La Voix du Nord, Le Dauphiné Libéré, Le Progrès, Le Télégramme, Nice-Matin, or Sud Ouest.

“In addition to this, we are also announcing a number of new partners, such as BFMTV, Capital, Femme Actuelle, Gala, Geo, L’Equipe, L’Express, Libération, RMC and Voici”, Facebook said in a blog post.
