Hillary Clinton to produce a TV-series on women fighting in Syria
The Daughters of Kobani book tells the story of how a group of women in Syrian town Kobani took to arms to fight the Islamic State and for equality. Gayle Tzemach Lemmon has interviewed the Kurdish women who put up the fight together with their own militia and American special forces.
Their story will also become a TV-series as Hillary and Chelsea Clinton co-founded production company, Hidden Light Production, has bought the rights.
”Rigorously reported and powerfully told, The Daughters of Kobani shines a light on a group of women intent on not only defeating the Islamic State on the battlefield but also changing women’s lives in their corner of the Middle East and beyond”, the publisher says.
