Instagram allowing users to cut down on sensitive content
Facebook-owned Instagram is introducing Sensitive Content Control to let users control how much sensitive content they will see under the “Explore” tab that shows photos, locations and searches based on the user’s interests and allows them to pick from categories.
The new control allows users to decide if they want to see more or less of some types content that are sensitive but within the framework of the social network’s rules.
“Something has become increasingly clear over the years – people have very different views about the experience we offer, and if it’s the right one for them. We believe people should be able to shape Instagram into the experience that they want,” the company said in a blog post.
“We’ve started to move in this direction with tools like the ability to turn off comments, or restrict someone from interacting with you on Instagram.”
