Is James Bond going to Amazon?
Amazon is in negotiations to buy MGM Studios for the company’s Prime streaming service with movies and shows. The price tag is expected to be USD 9 billion, US media reports.
If completed, the acquisition would give Amazon Prime access to huge amounts of content as MGM is one of Hollywood’s most famous film makers.
Reports about the negotiations came the same day as AT &T agreed to combine its WarnerMedia with Discovery creating a stand-alone company that will be another streaming giant for home entertainment market.
Among MGM’s brands are the James Bond movie franchise and TV series like The Handmaid’s Tale based on Margaret Atwood’s novel.
