Big Tech reporting strong quarterly results
The big tech kicked off its earnings season with Apple, Alphabet and Microsoft all reporting very strong quarterly results.
Google’s mother company Alphabet nearly tripled its net income to USD 18.5 billion.
Microsoft‘s profits were up 42% to USD 19.1 billion, mainly explained by strong demand for cloud computing.
Apple reported strong sales of new iPhones with revenue up 36% and a profit for the company of USD 21.7 billion.
However, the company warned that lack of semiconductors could mean a slowdown. Apple said lack of semiconductors has already affected the ability to sell Macs and iPads and that it could start affecting also the iPhone production.
