Microsoft to buy Pinterest

Microsoft approaching Pinterest

Microsoft has in recent months tried to buy social media Pinterest, the Financial Times reported citing people briefed on the matter. The report said negotiations are currently not active.

Pinterest has reported monthly active users up 37% to 459 million in the fourth quarter and that the company had added 100 million monthly active users last year.

Pinterest’s shares have risen over seven times from its pandemic-low in March last year. Pinterest had previously signaled it wants to remain an independent company, the Financial Times reported.

Reuters reported none of the companies had responded to requests for comments.
