TikTok remained the most downloaded app in the first quarter of 2021, according to the latest download stats from App Annie, which underline the social platform’s enduring popularity.
Even though download stats in themselves are not necessarily indicative of usage, as most people have already downloaded Facebook and Instagram, they provide evidence that TikTok is holding its growth momentum over the past two years.
TikTok also ranked in the top-5 by time spent, and its average monthly time spent per user grew faster than nearly every other app analyzed, including 70% in the US and 80% in the UK – surpassing Facebook.
According to App Annie’s report, TikTok is on track to hit 1.2 billion active users in 2021.
