‘I am not an easy man’: a fresh French movie to watch tonight
Even though we are well aware that browsing through the video streaming platforms to find what to watch is (more) than half of the story, sometimes it is also good to take a shortcut and land on a pleasant, feel good movie that does not make you feel that you lost your time!
This is why today we remembered this 2018 French movie, that is ideal for a weekend afternoon: you get to enjoy pre-COVID Paris, with open cafés and bars, turned into a paradise for women: they get to cat call men on the street, intimidate them at the office and make them feel ashamed about the amount of hair they have on their bodies…
This is the reversed world that our chauvinist protagonist wakes up in and Eleonore Pourriat, the director of the film, shows us -in the unique way that only French cinematographists can- how women really feel about normal, every day functions in their bodies and lives and how artificial the perceptions about male and female characteristics really are.
Without drama or scholar approach, but with lots of humour and some hilarious scenes, this social satire movie is available to watch on Netflix, if you check out the trailer and you get tempted…
