Data bootcamp for freelance journalists coming in October
The European Journalism Centre and the Freelance Journalism Assembly, in collaboration with Data4Change, are organising a data bootcamp for freelance journalists in October 2021.
The data bootcamp is addressed to freelance journalists reporting on development issues, such as health, education, human rights, climate change and gender inequality, who want to bring data-driven storytelling into their work. It will run from Monday 18th to Friday 29th October 2021, with live sessions taking place between 13:30 and 15:30 CEST.
It will include an introduction to the basics of getting data, cleaning data, analysing data and creating charts and visual stories with data, self-paced, step-by-step tutorials, live interactive workshops, best practice checklists for you to keep, a chance to meet other journalists through group games and activities, and a certificate upon completion.
Applications accepted will receive a full scholarship. Deadline for applications is 10 September, 24hr CEST.
You can submit your application for the data bootcamp here: https://journalismassembly.com/conference/data-bootcamp/application
