Diversity top priority for tech business recruiters

Hire for diversity is a top priority for HR teams this year, according to California-based tech recruitment firm Findem’s annual report on recruiting trends comprising 100 senior HR leaders. “Diversity has become an imperative for growth”, the report says.

57% prioritize finding more diverse candidates and 59% cite as a top trend diversity, equity and inclusion. 52% plan to hire a diversity leader. ” Diversity has become an imperative for growth”, the report says.

“Looking to the future, 59% of talent leaders expect DEI to remain a strong force in the recruiting landscape. Diversity is virtually a superpower for all key performance metrics. As recruiters build their talent teams for high growth and performance, more diverse experiences and backgrounds can increase innovation, creativity, improve financial performance, and so much more.”

”Even as company offices reopen, remote work has now become an important option to attract top talent and open up new sources for candidates. With the scale and velocity of recruiting today, automation, AI and machine learning will be essential tools.”

59% said they expect diversity, equality and inclusion to be the top trend that will have an impact on the business for the next few years; 51% said remote workforce; 47% more automation; 47% artificial intelligence and machine learning; 41% upskilling of staff; 38% outsourcing.

Another trend is that with stiff competition for talent, HR teams give a priority to finding passive candidates who could be interested in a new job.

To find these candidates 63% says email is the best tool; 48% LinkedIn; 46% phone/text; 40% in person; 37% social media.

”2022 will be a year of transition for many organizations. Talent leaders will have to find new sources of talent to build diverse teams of top talent aligned to key business initiatives. In a highly competitive market, the more diverse your talent pool is, the more likely you are to find people no one else is looking for.”
