Meera Selva appointed CEO of Internews Europe
Meera Selva has been appointed CEO of Internews Europe. She is presently Deputy Director at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and Director of its Journalism Fellowship Programme. She will take up her new role in June.
Internews is an international non-profit with 30 offices around the world, including headquarters in California, Washington DC, London and Paris, and regional hubs in Bangkok, Kyiv, and Nairobi. It trains journalists and digital rights activists, tackle disinformation, and offer business expertise to help media outlets become financially sustainable.
Internews says it support independent media in 100 countries, from radio stations in refugee camps, to hyper-local news outlets, to individual activists and reporters.
Selva joined Reuters Institute from a role as editor of the English language Handelsblatt Global. She was earlier with the Associated Press, Daily Telegraph and the Independent.
