
More management changes around TikTok
Another change in the top management of ByteDance/TikTok was announced when Zhang Yiming informed he is stepping down as CEO of TikTok-owner ByteDance. He is succeeded by the company’s head of HR and long-time colleague, Liang Rubo.
TikTok recently appointed ByteDance’s CFO Shouzi Chew to serves as both TikTok’s CEO and CFO at the parent company. He is succeeding interim CEO Vanessa Pappas, who is staying as TikTok COO.
The changes at top management of ByteDance/TikTok come shortly after Chinese authorities have paid a lot of attention to the country’s top tech companies and issued some directions.
TikTok’s popularity continues and US marketing company eMarketer says TikTok is on its way to have a larger number of Gen Z users in the US than Facebook-owned Instagram and that and that TikTok will surpass Snapchat in terms of total users by 2023.
