Twitter and Nigeria blocking each other
Nigeria announced the suspension of Twitter’s activities in the country, as a reaction to the company removing a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari referring to the punishment of regional secessionists.
Funnily enough, Information Minister Lai Mohammed announced the action on Twitter, where he also declared that the government had acted because of “the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.

Twitter is investigating its “deeply concerning” suspension of operations by the Nigerian government, and “will provide updates when we know more,” the company said in a statement.
On Wednesday, the U.S. tech firm said Buhari’s post threatening to punish groups blamed for attacks on government buildings had violated Twitter’s “abusive behaviour” policy.
On Friday, Facebook’s Oversight Board announced that they are prolonging Donald Trump’s account suspension for two years.
