Amazon Web Services announcing data centres in Israel
Amazon Web Services is opening data centers in Israel. The country recently signed a deal with AWS and Google for a USD 1 billion project to provide cloud services for Israeli public sector and military.
AWS and Google have won a tender for the project called “Nimbus”. Under the deal, Google and Amazon are committed to making reciprocal purchases and industrial cooperation in Israel equivalent to 20% of the value of the contract.
“Today, Amazon Web Services Inc, an Amazon.com company, announced it will open an infrastructure region in Israel in the first half of 2023”, AWS said in a statement.
The announcement came days after WSN announced it will build datacentres in Spain and invest around USD 2.5 billion.
