Apple has abused its dominant position in markets for mobile wallets on iOS devices, EU Commission says in a preliminary decision. If confirmed, the company could be forced to open its payment system to competitors. By limiting access to a standard technology (tap and go) used for contactless payments with mobile devices in stores, Apple restricts competition in the mobile wallets market on iOS, according to the Commission.

More than five in six people around the world live in a country that experienced a decline in press freedom over the past five years. Some 400 journalists were killed during the same period just for doing their jobs. Digital technologies are further revolutionizing this landscape, UNESCO director general Audrey Azoulay says in a statement prior to the World Press Freedom Day that is celebrated annually on May 3. At the same time, cyberattacks are nowadays used as a powerful weapon to silence media outlets.

Artificial Intelligence can often be seen as scary and even negative. 85% of consumers say that it is important for organizations to have an ethical approach as they use AI to tackle society’s problems. 75% of executives last year said AI ethics is important, up from less than 50% of respondents in 2018, a survey made by IBM Institute for Business Value shows.
