Worldwide market for sophisticated augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets is competitive with giants like Apple and Meta investing heavily. Shipments of these headsets have declined approximately 8.3% in 2023 but a forecast from International Data Corporation (IDC) says 2024 will be a “tremendous recovery” with shipment growth of 46.4%. So far, AR/VR headsets are mainly attracting gamers. Question is if the strong focus on the market will make developers introduce new attractive services for users.
