A new survey shows 70% of business leaders believe that artificial intelligence is either critical or highly critical to their business in the next three years. And 72% are increasing investments in AI in 2023, across nearly every industry, according to a survey of 1 600 machine learning practitioners and business leaders.
Ban TikTok at all levels of national government and in the EU institutions. The European Council and the Commission should exclude the use of equipment and software from manufacturers from high-risk countries, the European Parliament recommends by adopting a report from a parliament special committee on foreign interference.
Microsoft and Alphabet-owned Google just a few months ago started the ongoing race in introducing generative artificial intelligence saying it will dramatically improve search on Bing and Google respectively. They now seem to be competing also in introducing rules for responsible use of AI with both of them calling for governments and authorities to regulate the use.
Gender-based violence should be a crime under EU law and sexual harassment criminalised. These are not currently defined and criminalised at EU level, which means that those affected do not have the same rights across different member states. MEPs want a common EU approach. The European Parliament has adopted a report evaluating what EU institutions and countries have done so far to fight against sexual harassment. The report highlights that in some EU countries there has been little or no progress.
