Short form video is popular and news is the second most popular content after “how-to” videos. A third of online adults in Britain watch short-form content daily. Among adults who watched short-form content at least once a month, the most popular genre was ‘how-to’ videos (64%), followed by news (63%) and videos uploaded by the general public (59%), a report from UK’s media authority Ofcom shows.
30% of what employees do today can be automated by 2030 – a trend accelerated by generative AI, a US study by consultancy McKinsey shows. Pew Research Center says a greater share of women (21%) than men (17%) are likely to see the most exposure to AI.
Meta has unclear rules for posts about gender-based violence. This is the conclusion of two statements by the company’s Oversight Board. It has now overturned Meta’s original decision to leave up a Facebook post that mocks a target of gender-based violence. Just days earlier, the Board overturned Meta’s decisions to remove two Instagram posts which condemned gender-based violence.
By the end of 2026, more than USD 10 billion will have been invested in AI startups that rely on foundation models – large AI models trained on huge amounts of data, market research firm Gartner forecasts. The company says that a recent poll of more than 2,500 executive leaders found that 45% reported that the hype around Generative AI ChatGPT prompted them to increase AI investments.
