Startup memo.me to pay celebrities

Get a celebrity to love your product

Startup memo.me, offering persons or companies to pay celebrities for personalized video messages, announced it has raised USD 10 million. CEO Gustav Lundberg Toresson said that celebrities are embracing this as a new source of income.

The company plans to add live videos and to expand its business offerings, where companies can hire celebrities to create promotional videos for external marketing or internal employee motivation.

The company said it expects celebrities will still be excited about “making this much money from their living rooms” after the pandemic ends.

The company is based in Stockholm but is operating marketplaces with local celebrities also in Finland, Norway, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and Canada.

Prior to raising the new funding, the company sales grew 50% every month between July of last year and January 2021.
