Dance me to the end of… a coup in Myanmar

An aerobics instructor has hit the news all over the world by succeeding to film the coup in Myanmar, as a background to her exercise routine in front of the country’s parliament.

Khing Hnin Wai, as her name appears to be, posted on her Facebook page the footage of her workout in the capital, Naypyidaw, while in the background black SUVs drive up to a security checkpoint on the road leading to the Assembly of the Union complex behind her. As the upbeat song she is dancing to builds in tempo, the convoy swells almost in time to the music.

In her post, she assures that the video is real and that she has been filming many dance videos outside the assembly for 11 months.

“How harmonic with the background music and background scenery!” Khing Hnin Wai writes. “Before I heard the news [of the coup] in the morning, the video I made for the aerobic dance competition has become an unforgettable memory.”

In the full video, posted by Khing Hnin Wai to her Facebook, on which she lists her occupation as a physical education teacher, sirens can be heard in the background before the first vehicles appear.
