Clubhouse says media companies want to be on the platform
Audio chat app Clubhouse says there is an increasing demand from media organisations to use the platform. The company has hired its first head of news and media; Nina Gregory, senior editor at NPR (National Public Radio) is taking up the position.
A representative for the company told TheWrap that Gregory “is joining Clubhouse to focus on supporting the growing demand from media organizations utilizing the platform and engaging with the Clubhouse community.”
Gregory has served as senior editor for NPR’s arts desk since 2006. In an interview with CNN she said:
“As an audio journalist, [Clubhouse] aligned with what I’ve always believed is the best medium for news. You don’t need to know how to read to be able to hear radio news. You don’t need to have an expensive subscription. You don’t need cable. The accessibility across not just geography, but socioeconomics and cultures has always driven me to the power of the medium.”
