Do you want Q&A service on social media?
Is there a market for Q&A on the internet? Facebook just started testing one, while Yahoo recently announced it is closing its Yahoo Answers, one of the oldest internet services, because of fading interest.
Facebook has now announced public beta testing of a service, surprising called Hotline that looks like a mix of Clubhouse and Yahoo Answers. The Hotline is another proof how big operators try to copy the Clubhouse concept.
The Facebook version offers creators/speakers to address an audience who can ask question through audio or text. But it’s not only audio. User who want, can opt to turn cameras on for the “conversation”.
Head of Hotline is Eric Hazzard who founded Q&A app tbh that was later bought by Facebook.
As the questions are asked, users can contribute not only by questions but those who just listen can react with emoji, clapping hands, fire, heart, laughter, surprise, thumbs up.
The host of each Q&A session has full control and can kick out participants who violate Facebook’s codes of conduct. The host can also remove improper questions from the session. The latter probably after having studied how Clubhouse has been criticized for not stopping anti-Semitic comments etc.
One profile issue for Clubhouse is that conversations are not recorded. Facebook on the other hand says they will record. Hosts will get the recording and can upload them on their own sites or on other networks.
