Instagram and the booming audio

Instagram is aiming at the booming interest in audio services like audio-conversation app Clubhouse. Instagram announced it is exploring audio features that will be available in the coming months. The company said this will include also more interactive tools such as offering moderator controls.

The statement was made when the company announced it is expanding its focus on video with an expanded real-time broadcast service called Live Rooms which allows up to four persons to broadcast simultaneously. “Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve seen people on Instagram embrace Live in different ways”, the company said.

Previously, Instagram users could only stream with one other person. The company is hoping creators will use the new feature to stream podcasts, talk shows, concerts and other home entertainment content.
