TikTok testing Snapchat-style stories feature
Popular video-sharing platform TikTok is reportedly testing a new disappearing stories feature similar to functions on Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram, as it looks for new ways to bring value to its community.
Social media expert Matt Navarra shared on Twitter that a test of TikTok Stories is now underway.

The new feature, called “TikTok Stories,” appears to work similarly to other stories functions on apps like Instagram or Snapchat.
“TikTok Stories” will allow users to see content posted by accounts they follow for 24 hours before they are deleted. The Stories will be displayed in a collapsible left-hand side panel in the main feed of the app. Users will be able to tap into Stories from people and profiles that they follow, and tap through the Stories frames, indicated by the gray bars along the bottom of the Story display.
“TikTok Stories” will come with a dedicated camera and creation flow, which, again, will appear at the left of the main screen, making it easy to both find and create Stories, which can then be shared in the app.
The testing of “TikTok Stories” comes as WhatsApp has begun rolling out another Snapchat-like feature, which enables users to delete photos or videos from their chat after they’ve been opened by the recipient.
