Hackers stole cryptocurrencies worth USD 600 million from blockchain site Poly Network in what could be the largest crypto hack so far. Later the same day, the hackers started returning millions to Poly’s digital wallets. Poly was reported to have confirmed offering the hackers USD 500 000 as a “bug bounty” after admitting that the hackers exploited a “vulnerability between contract calls”.

The Polish parliament’s approval of a controversial media law led to strong criticism from both the European Union and the United States with US-based TV company Discovery saying it will take legal action against Poland referring to an investment treaty between the US and Poland. Discovery owns the country’s biggest TV network, TVN.

Worldwide revenues for the artificial intelligence (AI) market, including software, hardware, and services, is estimated to grow 15.2% year over year in 2021 to USD 341.8 billion. Next year, it is expected to grow 18.8% and by 2024, it will reach USD 500 billion, according to IT consultancy International Data Corporation´s (IDC).

Customer Relationship giant Salesforce is joining the streaming video business by launching Salesforce+ described as a streaming service for business with live and original content series. The company said it will have live and on-demand content for all roles, industry and line of business and later also content produced by clients.

Worldwide 5G network infrastructure revenue will grow 39% to total USD19.1 billion in 2021, up from USD 13.7 billion in 2020. The revenue 2022 is expected to be USD 23.3 billion, according to a forecast by research and marketing firm Gartner. The company said pandemic spiked demand for optimized and ultrafast broadband connectivity to support work-from-home; streaming video; online gaming; and social media applications.
